PPC (Pay-Per-Click) Advertising

PPC advertising or pay per click advertising is a form of advertising that uses the traffic of search engines to generate traffic to websites. Pay per click means exactly what it sounds like. For every visitor who visits your page via a paid advertisement, you pay a certain amount, generally between 10 to 50 cents.

When it comes to choosing which service to use, the search engine’s traffic is important, so below is a chart of the spread of traffic between search engines. All of the major ones: Google, Yahoo, and MSN, offer PPC ads.

Remember that even if you get better conversions and price per click on other search engines, Google has far more volume than all of the other search engines combined. This also means more competitors though but the truly brilliant PPC users shine with Google Search. However, people usually end up using all three of the major services and several of the smaller ones.

I’ll post more later on how to use PPC advertising.

-Google Adwords
